After reading the article about the role of women in Sanatan Dharma, I realized that the common perception of women being undervalued and pushed into dependent roles is inaccurate. In Hinduism, there is significant respect for the divine feminine energy and a balance between male and female elements. Goddesses such as Kali, Durga, and Lakshmi are not only revered but also play crucial roles in enhancing various aspects of the spiritual and cultural life of Hindus. Additionally, traditional worship and festivals dedicated to these goddesses demonstrate respect and the presence of women in religious life. With left hand mehndi design, a traditional art form of India, the connection to women’s cultural and religious heritage in Hinduism is further highlighted. Mehndi designs often carry spiritual meanings and express reverence for the goddesses and traditional values in Sanatan Dharma. I just find that perhaps in earlier times women were revered, but in this modern society, it seems that the role of women in India still lacks standing and voice.
