Akshay Tritiya Akshay Tritiya is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Vaishakh Shukla Paksha. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu are worshipped on this day. It is also known as Akha Teej, Akha Teej, and Akti Akti. Akshaya Tritiya is an important day. In the Hindu calendar, a date may decrease or increase in a month. For example, in a month, the eleventh date can come twice, or in a month, after the Dashami date, there can be twelve dates on the next day.But Akshaya Tritiya is a date that never decreases or increases. That is why its name is Akshaya Tritiya. Akshay means that which never decays. Out of the four yugas, Satyuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparayuga, and Kaliyuga, Tretayuga started with this Akshaya Tritiya. Due to this, this date is also called the date of the beginning of the ages, i.e., Yugaditithi.

• Lord Parshuram was born on this day as the sixth incarnation of Vishnu. This day is celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti.
• Ved Vyas ji started writing the Mahabharata with Ganesh ji on this day.
• On this day, Lord Krishna fulfilled the duty of friendship by filling his friend Sudama with a palace and riches.
• On this day, the war of the Mahabharata ended and the Treta Yuga began.
• It is believed that the result of doing Japa, penance, Pitra Tarpan, charity, etc. on this day always remains with the person, and never decays.
• For any auspicious work like marriage, house warming, building a house, starting a new business, etc., the day of Akshaya Tritiya is called the day of Abuj Muhurta; that is, any work can be started on this day without any hesitation.
• Akshaya Tritiya is considered to be a day of luck and success. Many people consider it auspicious to buy gold on this day.
• On this day the river Ganga descended from heaven and came to earth. Bathing in the Ganges is considered to be of special importance on this day.

• The day of Akshaya Tritiya is also included in the famous Sade Teen Muhurat. Apart from this, the days of Chaitra Shukla Paksha Pratipada, Vijayadashami, and Kartik Shukla Paksha Pratipada are also counted in three and a half moments.
• According to astrology, on the day of Akshaya Tritiya, the sun and moon shine equally with their full potential.
• The construction of the chariot for the Rath Yatra of the famous Jagannath Temple in Orissa starts on this day.
• Banke Bihari ji’s lotus feet are visible only on the day of Akshaya Tritiya in Vrindavan.
• Darshan of Lord Badrinath of Char Dham Yatra is opened on the day of Akshaya Tritiya.
• The day of Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated like a festival. Special dishes are prepared in homes on this day.The dishes made on Akshaya Tritiya are of this type. For example – Wheat Khichda and Mangodi vegetable, Gulab (Galvani), Millet Khichdi, Moong Rice Khichdi without salt etc. On this day even pucca kitchen is not made and papad is not baked. Pakki Rasoi means food prepared by frying in a pan like puri. Donating a new pitcher, pankhi, rice, ghee, pulses, salt, tamarind and dakshina etc. is considered to be of special importance on this day.
