In Sanathan Dharma, Dhoopam has a profound significance, especially used during pooja and Havana rituals. Dhoop sticks are generally burnt to purify the air and bring in a pleasant fragrance. It not only increases the divine connection between the devotee and the Deity but also takes the spiritual experience to a higher level.
Dhoopam has scientifically arrived from the dhoop tree, which is native to eastern India. A small part of this tree imparts fragrance when it is burnt. However, these sticks are made from infusing the bark of a tree with natural ingredients like herbs, essential oils and aromatic oils. It is in a little form of paste with a bit of dampness in it.
Significance of Dhoopam from our Vedic Puranas

Different types of Dhoop Sticks
