You must be having many questions in your mind, like, Who is Maa Durga? Why was there a need for her incarnation on earth? For what reasons did Durga Maa incarnate? It becomes important for us to know the answers to all these questions. When we go to any religious place, we see that there is a huge idol of Maa Durga. In many places, Maa Durga is worshiped so much that it increases our curiosity to know the answers to all these questions. After all,  who is this Durga Maa? So let’s know all these things in detail.

        Who is Maa Durga?

The Hindu religion is an old and complex one with many gods and goddness, Possibly none more important than the Goddess Durga. In Hinduism, a principal form of the goddess is also known as Devi and Shakti. She is the eventual source of power and energy. She became a warrior and fought Mahisasura by herself when it was needed. This is one of the best things to learn from Maa Durga: become the warrior of your life and eliminate your enemies. The word “Durga” is Sanskriti, and it means ‘fort’, like a building that cannot be breached and defeated. Thus, Durga protects people from evil but can also cause harm. She’s not a goddess to be messed with.

What caused the incarnation of Maa Durga, or should I ask How did Durga Maa come into existence?

Durga was originally created to defeat the demon Mahishasura; only a woman can defeat him. Goddess Durga was created to fight the evil demon Mahishasura. Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva combined their forces and created the powerful goddess Maa Durga to kill Mahishasura.

Durga Pooja, or worship in different states?

Nabakrishna Dev started Durga Puja in Shobhabazar, Rajbari, in 1757. Barowari Durga Puja began in Calcutta in the early twentieth century. Barwari Durga Puja is soon becoming a popular festival for people in Kolkata. Earlier, Durga Puja in Kolkata was restricted to wealthy families. This festival celebrates the victory of good over evil, as mythologically, Goddess Durga triumphed by killing the demon king Mahishasura. It is believed that the goddess visits the world at this time to bless her devotees. Durga Puja is of great importance to Bengali society. Some sakthas worship the symbol of Durga and the presence of Mother Nature. Navratri is also celebrated in southern India, especially in the state of Andhra Pradesh, where the goddess dresses up as a different goddess every day, every day. Everything is considered the same, but they are different forms of Durga. Tamil Nadu: Tamils celebrate Dur by worshiping the three goddesses Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati for three days. According to mythological beliefs, the idol of Madurga should be placed in the south or southeast.

Is Durga a symbol for women’s empowerment?

Goddess Durga’s power is the power to destroy evil and bring goodness into our lives. Although we do not see a man helping Durga, she is shown to be able to use their power from time to time. Strength and Courage: Durga is often depicted as a fierce warrior who defeated the demon Mahishasura. Women can connect with it by finding inner strength and courage to face life’s challenges and overcome obstacles. Durga’s image can serve as a reminder that women have the ability to face and overcome obstacles. In today’s times, women have to face so many difficulties that there are very few chances for anyone to help them. Maa Durga teaches us this and makes us realize that at times we have to stand on our own; we women can also fight. If any atrocities are taking place, then she can do it without thinking that anyone will come to help, like Maa Durga, who, being a woman, fought against an evil, and she also won the war, which is the best example or inspiration for all the women that women have a lot of power to face any difficulty.
