        The holy month of Shravan, also known as Sravana or Savan. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Shrawan Maas (month) holds great significance for Hindus, especially Shiva devotees. This year, the month will start on July 4 and last until August 31, with 59 days and eight Shravan Mondays or Somwars. This year’s 59-day length is extra auspicious, as it is the rare occurrence after 19 years. According to astrological calculations and the Hindu calendar, the Adhik Maas or Mal Maashas extended the length of the Sawan month this year.

        In addition to the Shravan Somwar vrats, the Kanwar Yatra is a significant part of Shravan celebrations. The ritual involves devotees carrying water from holy rivers in small pots called Kanwars, wearing saffron-colored clothes, and walking on foot to sacred places associated with Lord Shiva to symbolize their devotion and dedication.

        According to the ancient belief, those who perform monday fasting is blessed with happiness and all the pleasures of the world. His all the desires are fulfilled. Donation and charity made on this day gives fruits equivalent to that of visiting Jyotirlinga and worshiping Lord Shiva can bring you closer to the salvation of your soul or Moksh Prapti.
